How To Take the Best Holiday Photos

Dentist Columbia Happy Holidays

The holidays are that time of the year when someone always has a camera in their hands, ready to strike.  Most of us take more photos between the months of October and January than we do the rest of the year.

Do you know how to take great holiday photos when you’re behind the camera?  Following are our top tips for taking the best photos when you’re taking your favorite holiday photos.

Fill the frame.  Many amateur photographers make the common mistake of not filling the frame when they take a photo, particularly when in a crowded setting.  It’s important to take a quick mental inventory of what’s around because you just might notice some people or things that are out of place and don’t belong in the photo.

Lights…camera…action!  Indoor photography often has its own set of unique challenges, especially when it comes to the lighting.  Be sure to turn on some extra lights to illuminate your subject correctly.

Think outside the box.  Don’t forget to take some unique photos, not just staged ones. Maybe you could sneak into the kitchen and take a few shots of your Mom’s expert hands mixing up the stuffing as she’s done so many times before.

So…will your smile be ready?

You never know when someone has a camera pointed in your direction.  And whether you strike a pose or are caught on “candid camera”, you’ll want to flash a sparking white smile.  By whitening your teeth before holiday events, you’ll be able to look back and remember the joy of sharing the holidays with those important to you.

These days, photos are no longer just being stored for occasional viewing. Most people also post their photos on some social media sites and/or send them via text or email, so everyone can see them instantly.

If the photographer zooms in on you, how will your teeth look?
